  • Grudge Match Games Week 13

Atlantic City Gamblers (7-6) @ BrownsROCK (5-8)

Let's hear it for the home team. This is another game dominated by the home team so far. Three wins for the home team, zero wins for the visitors. Atlantic City Gamblers hold a 2-1 edge in the series. BrownsROCK will play in the consolation playoff this year, while the Atlantic City Gamblers, #3 seed right now, are one of five teams still working to land a birth in the championship playoff. The Gamblers average 137.31 points when playing BrownsROCK. The ROCK average 109.11 against the Atlantic City Gamblers. This year in the division, the Gamblers have split games with Turk's Terminators (1-1), split with Westwood Wizards (1-1), and defeated the BrownsROCK the first time around with one to play this week. BrownsROCK swept the Terminators (2-0), split with the Wizards (1-1), and lost the first game vs the Gamblers. Another win by BrownsROCK would improve their 3-11 finish in 08, to 6-8 this year and maybe a shot at the 2010 championship. If the Gamblers win, they are in. If they lose, they join the sharks in the shark-tank.

Westwood Wizards (7-6) @ Turk's Terminators (7-6)

This looks like a good game for week 13. The winner will probably move into the Fanatic Bowl playoff, while the loser will play in the consolation playoff. That's a lot riding on one game. Taking a look at the series between these teams, I found the Wizards have won 3 out of 3 games. The Wizards average 152.78 points per game while the Terminator's average 124.26 per game versus the Wizards. Week 12 saw the Terminator's win their first division game this year. It was a must win game against the Atlantic City Gamblers. Meanwhile the Wizards completed the 09 sweep versus BrownsROCK. The Wizards also swept the Gamblers and won the first game against Turk's Terminator's. Another win versus the Turk's will give the Wizards a 2009 three-sweep of the division. Either team could find themselves the #3 seed when this weeks games conclude.

Z' Killer Frogs (7-6) @ Kajun Kanes (5-8)

Kajun Kanes will play in the consolation playoff this year after suffering a devastating 5 point loss to The Cunning Hams in week 12. Z' Killer Frogs helped their own cause by winning a big game over Number 7 by 8 points to stay in the hunt for a championship. In 2008 the Kajun Kanes won both regular season games played by these teams. The Frogs surprised the Kanes in week 7 this year by downing them for their first series win. The Killer Frogs are like the other 7-6 and 6-7 teams needing a win this week to remain among the top six teams. The Frogs better stay awake in this game because the Kanes average 130.99 points per game against them compared to 117.66 points per game for the Frogs. Z' Killer Frogs held the Kajun Kanes to 111.12 points in the week 7 game. If they can win this game, it will be one big step for Frogs and one giant leap for Frogkind.

The Cunning Hams (9-4) @ Number 7 (5-8)

The Hams have won the first three regular season games versus Number 7. A win this week over the Hams would be big for Number 7 and their fantasy football program. Last week Number 7 gave Z' Killer Frogs all they could handle. In the end Number 7 dropped a close 8 point thriller. Prior to that lost the 7's were riding a three game win streak with a chance to get into the Fanatic Bowl. Week 12 proved to be a good test for The Cunning Hams. They just got by the Kajun Kanes by 5 points. They have now won 5 of their last 6 games. It looks like the Hams have locked down the #2 seed in the Fanatic Bowl unless there's a big earthquake among the games in week 13. Number 7 will play in the consolation bracket.

MANIACS (9-4) @ The New Kid In Town (6-7)

This game features one team already in the Fanatic Bowl and another trying to get there. The New Kid In Town took a big hit last week when Rumble In The Jungle came alive and won their first game of the year. The New Kid will just have to pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and battle back. In the three games played between these two teams The New Kid has won one and lost two. They won the first game played in 2008, then the MANIACS won the next two. Division games have been the difference in these teams records. New Kid is 1-4 while the MANIACS are 4-1. The only win for the New Kids was recorded in week one versus Rumble In The Jungle. After that they lost 2 to Pismo Penetrator's, 1 to the MANIACS, and 1 to Rumble In The Jungle. The MANIACS have been on a search and destroy mission. They defeated Rumble In The Jungle 2 times, split 2 games with Pismo Penetrator's, and won the first game versus The New Kid In Town with one game remaining.

Rumble In The Jungle (1-12) @ Pismo Penetrator's (10-3)

I knew it. I said it was going to happen sometime. Rumble In The Jungle won their first game in 2009, snapping an 11 game losing streak. After the game our beat writer spoke briefly with Coach Josh about the win. We are glad to get that monkey off our backs said the coach. It's a jungle out there. Well, I'm sure we all know how Coach Josh feels. Can they stretch that win streak to two games to close out the regular season? If they do, it will be against a team they haven't beaten in three tries. Heck, what's a three game losing streak compared to the 11 they just made disappear? Anything's possible in fantasy football, right? Pismo will be off to the Fanatic Bowl when the game is over, win or lose. Rumble In The Jungle will play in the consolation playoff.
