BIGDAWGS (2-11) @ SJ DEVILDOGS (3-10)
What's the difference in a BIGDAWG and a DEVILDOG? Right now the difference is one win, 2-11, 3-10. I don't know why, but both of these teams under performed this year. The BIGDAWGS finished 6-8 in 08 and the DEVILDOGS were 10-4 and the #2 seed in the Fanatic Bowl. I guess it's just the way the fantasy football bounces. SJ DEVILDOGS defeated the BIGDAWGS twice last year to take a 2-0 series lead. BIGDAWGS showed some heart the first game this year and downed the DEVILDOGS by 14.86 points to draw closer in the series at 2-1. BIGDAWGS have two wins in the division this year against the DEVILDOGS (1) and Culb G Spot Guam (1). DEVILDOGS defeated two Central division teams, the Dolphin BallBusters and Number 7. Club G Spot Guam was the only North division rival to lose to the DEVILDOGS. Both DOGS and DAWGS will play in the consolation playoff.
Brett's Bruisers (9-4) @ Club G Spot Guam (5-8)
Brett's Bruisers are flying pretty high right now after winning 7 of their last 8 games. Club G Spot Guam could only put together 2 wins in the last 8. In division games, Brett's Bruisers swept the DEVILDOGS (2-0) and BIGDAWGS (2-0) for 4 wins. Their only loss was to Club G Spot Guam. G Spot Guam on the other hand, split games with both DEVILDOGS (1-1) and BIGDAWGS (1-1) for a 2-2 record there. They will either sweep Brett's Bruisers with a win this week or split with a loss. Taking into consideration the history of these teams, Club G Spot Guam is 3-0 versus the Bruisers. The margin of victory in the first three meetings was slim. In the first game it was .42, second game 5.66, and the third game 4.1. That comes out to 3.39 points per game margin of victory. Club G Spot will try to extend their win streak to four over the Bruisers. We think the Bruisers will play inspired ball this week. They have a chance to receive the #1 or #2 seed with a win over Guam and a loss by either NJ black n blue (9-4) or Pismo Penetrator's (9-4).
Number 7 (4-9) @ Patriots (8-5)
Number 7 will fall short of their 08 win total and are headed to the consolation playoff. The Patriots on the other hand have improved their 4-10 2008 record, and are among 6 teams fighting for 5 seeds in the Fanatic Bowl. Brett's will be the lone team from the North division to receive the automatic division champ seed. The South division still has 4 teams chasing a championship, while the Patriots are joined by NJ black n blue from the Central division. Number 7 holds a 2-1 series advantage but the Patriots win came in the first week of 09. Another win by the Patriots this week will give them a sweep of the 09 games. They swept the Dolphin BallBusters (2-0) and split with NJ black n blue (1-1). In 2008 Number 7 was 4-2 in the division. This year they're 2-3 with the possibility of 2-4 if they lose this game. Their wins came over the Dolphin BallBusters (1) and NJ black n blue (1). A Patriots win coupled with a NJ black n blue loss would give the Pats the division championship and an automatic 1, 2, or 3 seed.
NJ black n blue (9-4) @ Dolphin BallBusters (6-7)
Both of these teams finished 7-7 in 2008. NJ black n blue won the division with a tie-breaker. They also received the automatic #3 seed in the Fanatic Bowl. The BallBusters received the #6 seed to the Fanatic Bowl. The home team has never won in games between NJ and BallBusters. That will either continue, or the Dolphins will win the first home game of the series. NJ black n blue averages 131.30 to 120.36 per game for the BallBusters. In division games the BallBusters were much better in 08 then they are this year. In 08 they were 4-2 but this year they have only 1 win and 4 losses. NJ black n blue will equal their 4-2 2008 record if they win this game. A win by black n blue would assure them of no less than a #2 seed going into the playoffs.
PREDATORS (8-5) @ Pismo Penetrator's (9-4)
It's all about seeding in this game. The winner will probably be the #1 and the loser #4 in the Fanatic Bowl. To date the PREDATORS have bullied the Penetrator's in all three games they've played. Although the Penetrator's are scoring 143.9 per game, they average 126.68 versus the PREDATORS. Pismo Penetrator's did score 146.22 in their first game against the PREDATORS this year. It wasn't enough to overcome the 162.32 scored by the PREDATORS. The South division has been beating up on each other all year. Both of these teams have 2-3 records in the division. Pismo has split with the Bayou Bengals (1-1), APOGEE (1-1), and lost to the PREDATORS (0-1) with one to play this week. On the other side of the field the PREDATORS split with APOGEE (1-1), were swept by the Bayou Bengals (2-0), and won the first game versus Pismo Penetrator's (0-1) with one to play. Expect a lot of offense in this game.
APOGEE (8-5) @ Bayou Bengals (7-6)
If the Bayou Bengals figure out how to put APOGEE away, they just might find themselves in the Fanatic Bowl. The first APOGEE win (08) was a blowout but the last two games have been close. The Bengals have been reeling them in little by little. Presently with the 7-6 record, the Bengals are hoping to win by a large margin and have either APOGEE or the Patriots lose by a mile. In division play the Bengals have been impressive. They split games with Pismo Penetrator's (1-1), defeated the defending champs, PREDATORS two times (2-0), and have a chance to split with APOGEE after dropping the week one game to them by 10 points. APOGEE has split games with Pismo Penetrator's (1-1), PREDATORS (1-1), and will either sweep or split with the Bayou Bengals. No matter what the outcome of this game is, the Bengals really turned their season around after starting 1-5. They're 6-1 so far in the second half of the season. APOGEE started 5-1 and since that time have a 3-4 record. Lace up those cleats! Pull that chin-strap tight! Get in there!
