- Grudge Match Games Week 13
Warriors (9-4) @ Pismo Penetrator's (11-2)
Both teams are in the Fanatic Bowl and both know where they'll be seeded. Penetrator's will be #1 and the Warriors #4. Maybe the Warriors would just like to improve to 10-4 after finishing 7-7 a year ago. Maybe the Warriors (1-2) want to tie the all time series versus Pismo Penetrator's (2-1). Maybe the Warriors want to build momentum going into the playoffs. And maybe the Penetrator's don't care what the Warriors want to do. Looking at the history between these teams, the Warriors won the first game in 2008 but the Penetrator's have won the last two. Pismo averages 148.77 points per game when they play the Warriors. The Warriors put up 147.16 against the Penetrator's on the average per game. Taking a look to see how each team played within the division, Pismo Penetrator's have one more win 4-1 to 3-2 for the Warriors. The Penetrator's swept the Claymont Indians (2), split with KC Stars III (1-1), and won the first game versus the Warriors. The Warriors swept the KC Stars III (2), split games with Claymont Indians (1-1), and lost the first game to the Penetrator's in week one. Pismo Penetrator's have improved on their 8-6 finish in 2008. This is a good matchup between two much improved teams.
KC Stars III (6-7) @ Claymont Indians (6-7)
Both teams know they're within striking distance of the teams currently occupying the 5 and 6 seeds for the Fanatic Bowl. They also know only the winner of this game will have a chance to unseat one of the teams ahead of them. The loser will play in the consolation playoff. Both teams suffered close losses in week 12. The Stars dropped a 5 pointer to the Warriors, while the Indians lost a heartbreaker by .42 of a point to Pismo Penetrator's. The Indians and Stars must block out those games and concentrate on the task at hand, winning. The Indians have won three out of three regular season games versus the Stars. In those wins, the margin of victory was 12.6 points (first 08 game), 3.08 (second 08 game), and 27.72 points in the first game this year. Not so fast there my friend. The Stars defeated the Claymont Indians by 57.36 points in the 2008 Consolation Championship game. Let the game begin......
WAHOOS (7-6) @ Rajun Cajuns (6-7)
WAHOOS control their own destiny. Win, your in. Lose, who knows where you end up. The Cajuns must win to have any chance to get in the championship hunt. Division games have hurt the Cajuns. They won their first division game in week 12 against The Village Idiots. They've lost two games to the Capital City Cowboys, split two games with the Idiots, and lost the first game versus the WAHOOS. The WAHOOS have a 3-2 division record. They split with the Capital City Cowboys (1-1) and The Village Idiots (1-1). If they win this weeks game they will have a sweep over the Cajuns in 09. Taking a look at the historical matchup between these teams, I see the WAHOOS lead the series 2-1. The Rajun Cajuns have a higher point per game average, 115.59 to 112.87 for the WAHOOS.
The Village Idiots (6-7) @ Capital City Cowboys (6-7)
Currently the Capital City Cowboys are the best of the 6-7 teams and that gives them the #6 seed going into the last regular season game of the year. The Cowboys perfect weekend would be for them to win and have the Rajun Cajuns defeat the WAHOOS. That scenario would move them from #6 to #3 in the bracket. The Village Idiots are mathematically alive for a shot at a Fanatic Bowl seed, but it will be hard to out point the teams in front of them when tie-breakers are applied. In their Mountain division, both teams have won 3 and lost 2. Capital City Cowboys defeated the Rajun Cajuns two times, and split with the WAHOOS (1-1). A win this week will give them a split with the Idiots. The Village Idiots split games with the Rajun Cajuns and the WAHOOS. They defeated the Cowboys in week one. If they win this week it will be a sweep for them over the Cowboys and possibly knock the Capital City out of the Fanatic Bowl.
Steelers (7-6) @ doodledog39 (7-6)
Wonder how these teams feel going into this weekend? They finished in the top two in the division last year with the Steelers taking the division crown. They usually don't bring a defense to the game. It's all about offense. They've faced each other three times and the home team has won each game. The Steelers average 156.93 point per game, while doodledog39 has an average of 148.63 against the Steelers. Both teams won last week against division rivals to setup this dandy game. The winner has nothing to worry about, the loser might have a problem in the tie-breakers, depending on which teams win this week across the league. Within the division the Steelers split games with New England (4-9) and DEATH CLUTCH (3-10). They beat the doodledogs in week one by 1.16 points. doodledog39 has split games with New England and DEATH CLUTCH. They need a win to split with the Steelers.
DEATH CLUTCH (3-10) @ New England (4-9)
Both teams will play in the consolation playoff this year. DEATH CLUTCH lost by 24 to doodledog last week, while New England dropped their week 12 game by 38 to the Steelers. In the series between these teams DEATH CLUTCH won the first game but it's been New England winning the last two. New England has the better division record, splitting games with doodledog39 and the Steelers. They also won the first matchup with DEATH CLUTCH giving them a possible sweep if they win this week. DEATH CLUTCH defeated the two division leaders once each. I guess the question is, will both teams finish 4-10? or will New England win to finish 5-9?
