NFL Sunday Ticket Deals and Fantasy Football
Recently, many Americans celebrated the end of the NFL lockout and labor negotiations. For anyone who decided not to follow the duration of the NFL lockout, or who found what was going on confusing and discouraging, this is a basic summary: due to a variety of disputes between the players and owners in the NFL, the league “locked out” its players, essentially halting all league operations – from free agency signings, to other transactions, to training camps, and even games (if it had gotten that far). However, with the resolution of the labor disputes and end of the lockout, America has gotten its football back, and the season will go on as scheduled! This means that it’s time to look into NFL Sunday Ticket deals, call up your friends, set up your fantasy league, and get ready to watch some football!
For many people, the promise of a season of football is most exciting because it enables the playing of fantasy football…. It sounds a bit silly to think that fans are as excited to play these online games as they are to watch the actual games. Yet when you consider how many Americans spend countless hours updating and monitoring their fantasy football teams, it makes perfect sense. After all, we all need something to focus on while we’re at work, don’t we?
For anyone unfamiliar with fantasy football, it is basically a way for you to competitively enjoy following players’ individual stats. Essentially, in most cases, you will join a league (either with strangers online, or with friends) and draft individual players to your team. Then, you will pick players to “start” for your team each week, and whatever performances your starters put in during that week’s actual NFL games earn you points for your fantasy team. This is merely a basic outline – all leagues work differently – but hopefully it gives you a decent understanding of the concept.
If you are considering getting involved with fantasy football, you will likely want to take advantage of the huge amount of advice and analysis available online. Fantasy football has become so big, in fact, that even ESPN devotes entire television and online segments to discussing strategies and players to watch out for. For example, Chad Ochocinco is a wide receiver whose production has been inconsistent in recent years… yet he has recently become a member of the New England Patriots, whose strong offense (led by quarterback Tom Brady) may well help Ochocinco return to elite status and produce strong numbers. You may also want to keep an eye on DeAngelo Williams, a running back recently re-signed by the Carolina Panthers… the Panthers are a rebuilding team with young quarterbacks, meaning that they will likely rely on their running game for offense, and Williams should get a lot of opportunities to produce good numbers. These are just a few examples of the type of advice
available online and on television for fantasy football players.
I'm a NFL and fantasy football fan, so much so that I started my own fantasy football website. Don't be left out in the dark, especiaaly when Direct TV provides NFL Sunday Ticket Deals to keep you in every game.
